Colorado Part 4

On March 17 we took the gondola to the top of the mountain again for some fun in the snow! It was excellent timing as it had snowed over night.

Keystone has this fun event called Kidtopia that was going on while we were there and this giant snow fort was one of the main attractions of it! The kids loved it!

Angel was really into it which I wasn't necessarily expecting since he can be a bit reserved about heights!

Now our silly J was a bit Out of Control and had to sit out a few runs to make sure he stayed safe.

I was the one that was the most scared initially, but it was really exhilarating! I would have gone on a lot more runs if it weren't for the "people mover" you had to get on with your tube to get back up to the top. Now that freaked me out!

J was clearly unfazed by missing out on some runs on the tube. He entertained himself on the snow drift! This little ball of energy totally has my heart!

That evening it snowed again and it was simply beautiful to experience as we waited for the shuttle bus to take us back to our hotel after dinner!

Colorado Part 3

Some of my favorite memories from our trip are the times we were just exploring together.

On March 16, we explored River Run Village, beginning with lunch and some family photo ops.

Then we made attempt #1 of building a snowman. I know it is seriously sad how tiny it was but we made up for it later in the trip!

There was also a snow ball war between these 2 and their daddy!

We also got to experience some amazing views as we took a GPS treasure hunt!

The boys loved helping navigate although we had to confiscate one of the GPS devices to ensure we did in fact make it back to our hotel!

We also went on top of the mountain on the gondola and took some more pictures.

I love my sweet family!

Colorado Part 2

As mentioned in the last post, I took over 1,000 pictures on this trip so there will be several picture heavy posts. You're welcome!

I think kids all bundled up is so precious! Can you find J? We planned to ice skate on this outdoor ice rink but it was closed due to the ice beginning to melt. No biggie, but we enjoyed taking some photos of the scenery.

I honestly can't get enough of these too cuties! And who can blame me, right?

While waiting to catch the bus to go to the location of the sleigh ride the boys got to make s'mores! Ice cream cones instead of graham crackers, very clever!

I have always wanted to go on a sleigh ride into the mountains.

A total dream come true with my 3 favorite guys, a few other very sweet families and a couple of cowboys!

We took a family photo with our sleigh after we arrived at the top of the mountain!

We had a fun dinner inside this beautiful cabin!

The boys loved the singing cowboy and I'm pretty sure he was enjoying them too!

Such a fun way to start our time in Colorado and a total highlight!

Beginning of Colorado

Over Spring Break we got to take the boys out of state for the first time! It was really difficult to do when they were in foster care and to be honest a bit overwhelming. So, this was the perfect time and also our longest trip as a family of 4. We drove to Colorado and spent 4 of our 9 day vacation in the car. I'm sure you all think we are crazy, but honestly our kids do amazing in the car! It was fun to take pictures at the signs entering each new state and talk about what a state is. I'm not sure what is up with the "Land of Enchantment" but there seems to be bullet holes in the sign!

The long road there provided a lot of quality time!

Finally in Colorado!

All that driving was SO worth it with beautiful scenes like these right outside our hotel window!

My sweet husband booked a suite and I was so grateful for the extra space and the door between the bedroom and the "living room" where the kids were. The boys loved sleeping on a pull out couch too!
